Haldi Mala, also known as Turmeric Mala, is a rosary made up of the bulbs of turmeric. A total of 108 + 1 turmeric bulbs, with a hole in their centre, are put together in a string of thread to form this Mala. While 108 bulbs are meant for the purpose of keeping a count while performing meditation, the additional bead along with the tassel is for the purpose of marking a beginning and an end to the circle.
