Swarnamukhi Shila is the
natural divine stones found in Swarnamukhi River. This stone is one of the Divine
stone used for performing Panchayatan pooja
.
Panchayatana puja is the
system of worship which was most common in every house till few decades ago. The
Panchayatana is a system which consists of the worship of five deities:
"Adityam Ambikaam Vishnum Gananaatam
Maheswaram"
Aditya is Surya; Ambika is Devi; Vishnu is
Narayana; Gananaatham is Ganesha, Mahesvara is shiva.
These five are the great
divine force whom every householder worships as pancha devata puja. Based on
the tradition followed by the family, one of these deities is kept in the
center and the other four surround it and worship is offered to all the
deities.
The panchayatana scheme represent the five elements:

నిండాలంటే ఆ ఇంట స్వర్ణముఖి ఉండి తీరాల్సిందే. ఎందుకంటే స్వర్ణముఖి శిలకు
బంగారాన్ని ఆకర్షించే శక్తి ఉంది. అంటే ఆ ఇంట నివసించే వారికి బంగారు అభరణాలు మునుపటికంటే ఎక్కువగా దక్కుతాయి. అలా లభించిన బంగారం శాశ్వతంగా వారికి స్వంతమౌతాయి. అంటే తాకట్టు పెట్టడం, చోరి అవ్వడం వంటివి జరగవు. ముఖ్యంగా ప్రతి సంవత్సరం వచ్చే అక్షయ తృతీయనాడు స్వర్ణముఖిని పూజిస్తే ఇంట బంగారు వర్షం కురుస్తుంది.
స్వర్ణముఖినది దక్షిణ భారత దేశంలో ప్రవహించే ఒక నది. చిత్తూరు జిల్లాలో ప్రముఖ నది. ప్రముఖ శైవ క్షేత్రమయిన శ్రీకాళహస్తి ఈ నది ఒడ్డున నెలకొని ఉంది. తిరుపతి -చంద్రగిరి మధ్య తొండవాడ సమీప కొండప్రాంతం ఈ నది జన్మస్థానం. ధూర్జటి తన రచనల్లో దీన్ని మొగలేరు అని ప్రస్తావించాడు.
ఈ నది ఒడ్డున శ్రీకాళహస్తీశ్వరాలయం, తొండవాడ వద్ద ఉన్న అగస్తేశ్వరాలయం, యోగి మల్లవరం వద్దనున్న పరాశరేశ్వరాలయం, గుడిమల్లం దగ్గరున్న పరశురామేశ్వరాలయం, గాజులమండ్యం దగ్గరున్న మూలస్థానేశ్వరాలయం ఉన్నాయి.
ఈ నది భీమ,
కల్యాణి నదులతో సంగమించి, తొండవాడలో త్రివేణి సంగమంగా మారి, ఉత్తరవాహినిగా ప్రవహించి తూర్పున బంగాళాఖాతంలో విలీనం అవుతుంది.
పూర్వం అగస్త్య మహర్షి బ్రహ్మను గురించి తపస్సుచేసి ఈ నదిని దేవలోకం నుంచి క్రిందికి తెప్పించినట్లు స్థలపురాణం ద్వారా తెలుస్తున్నది. శ్రీకాళహస్తీశ్వరాలయాన్ని నిర్మించేటపుడు ఆలయ నిర్మాణంలో సహకరించిన కూలీలు రోజూ సాయంత్రం నదిలో స్నానం చేసి ఆ నది అంతర్ భాగం నుండి ఇసుక మరియు రాళ్ళను వారి చేతుల్లోకి తీసుకుంటే అవి వారి కష్టానికి తగిన ప్రతిఫలవిలువ
చేసేంత బంగారంగా మారేది. అందుకే ఈ నదికి స్వర్ణముఖి అని పేరు వచ్చింది.
