Kamal gatta mala is also known as dried lotus seed mala. This mala is made from lotus seeds. Poverty is the worst curse of life. To banish this curse that could be haunting a house for generations one must try one's best.

The lotus being a symbol of growth, at it blooms beautifully even in the most unlikely, difficult environments. Lakshmi is also called Kamalvaasini - i.e one who sits on a lotus. This is why for the Sadhana and Mantra chanting of Lakshmi we use a special rosary made of seeds of lotus which is called Kamalgatta Mala.

The Goddess is easily appeased if one uses this rosary for the chanting of her Mantra and she bestows upon him wealth and comforts. There are other rosaries too that are prescribed for Lakshmi Sadhanas and with them too Lakshmi Sadhana can be accomplished. But using a Kamalgatta rosary helps one secure the blessings of the Goddess faster. It improves speech, concentration and reduces pittha imbalances.

Lotus seeds are radiant with the spiritual power of the sun, and they multiply the effects of one's spiritual practices one million times. Lotus seeds increase one's d evotion, peace of mind, and inner beauty, and attract tremendous cosmic radiance.

All of the chakras in the subtle body will bloom like radiant lotus flowers if the lotus seed mala is worn while performing puja, mantra japa, or meditation. Wearing or using a lotus seed mala attracts the spiritual energy of the sun, and makes the face and eyes glow brightly with divine energy.

If one lotus seed mala is worn around the neck, and another is held in the hand during mantra japa, Divine Mother in the form of the kundalini energy touches all the chakras, cleansing them and making them bloom like radiant lotus blossoms.

శ్రీ వరలక్ష్మీ వ్రతం నాడు శ్రీ మహాలక్ష్మిని ధ్యానించిన వారికి సుఖసంతోషాలు చేకూరుతాయని అందరు అంటున్నారు. ఇటువంటి మహిమాన్వితమైన "శ్రీ వరలక్ష్మీ" వ్రత పుణ్యదినాన సూర్యోదయానికి ముందే లేచి, అభ్యంగన స్నానమాచరించి, నూతన వస్త్ర ధారణ చేయాలి.  తదనంతరం పూజామందిరమును, ఇంటిని శుభ్రం చేసుకుని, గడపకు పసుపు కుంకుమ, గుమ్మానికి తోరణాలు, పూజా మందిరాన్ని పద్మం ముగ్గులతో రంగవల్లికలను తీర్చిదిద్దాలి. దానిపై పసుపు రాసి ముగ్గులు బొట్లు పెట్టుకున్న పీటను ఉంచి ఆ పీటపై నూతన వస్త్రము పరచి, బియ్యము పోసి, దానిపై అలంకరించిన కలశచెంబును ఉంచాలి. ఒక కొబ్బరికాయను తీసుకుని దానికి "శ్రీ వరలక్ష్మీ" రూపు ప్రతిబింబించేటట్లు పసుపు ముద్దతో కనులు, ముక్కు, చెవులు మున్నగునవి తీర్చిదిద్దుకోవాలి. కుంకుమ, కనులకు కాటుకలను అమర్చి ఆ రూపును కలశపై ఉంచుకోవాలి.

ఆ తర్వాత  కూర్చున్న లక్ష్మీదేవి ఫోటోను గానీ, ప్రతిమ ను గానీ పసుపు కుంకుమలతో అలంకరించుకుని పూజకు సిద్ధం సుకోవాలి. పూజకు ఎర్రటి అక్షింతలు, పద్మములు, ఎర్రటి కలువ పువ్వులు, గులాబి పువ్వులు, నైవేద్యమునకు బొంబాయి రవ్వతో కేసరి బాత్, రవ్వలడ్డులు, జామకాయలు వంటివి సిద్ధం చేసుకోవాలి. పూజగదిలో రెండు వెండి దీపాలలో ఆరేసి ఆరేసి మొత్తం 12 తామర వత్తులతో నేతితో దీపమెలిగించాలి.

ఇకపోతే.. సాయంత్రం ఆరుగంటల నుంచి పూజను ప్రారంభించాలి. నుదుట కుంకుమ బొట్టు పెట్టుకుని, మెడలో తామర మాల ధరించి పూజను ఆరంభించాలి. శ్రీ లక్ష్మి సహస్రనామము, వరలక్ష్మీ వ్రత కథ పారాయణ చేసి, "ఓం మహాలక్ష్మీదేవ్యై నమః" అనే మంత్రాన్ని 108 సార్లు జపించాలి. వీలైతే లక్ష్మీ అష్టోత్తరము, మహాలక్ష్మి అష్టకములను పఠించి, తదనంతరం నైవేద్యములను సమర్పించుకుని దేవదేవికి దీపారాధన చేయాలి.

పూజ పూర్తయిన తర్వాత ఇరుగు పొరుగు ముత్తైదువులను పిలుచుకుని దక్షిణ తాంబూలాలు ఇచ్చుకోవాలి. ఈమెని పూజిస్తే అష్ట ఐస్వరాలు లభిస్తాయి. స్త్రీలు వరలక్ష్మిని భక్తి శ్రద్ధలతో ప్రార్థిస్తే దీర్ఘసుమంగళీ ప్రాప్తం చేకూరుతుందని విశ్వాసం.
