Worshipping Hanumanji involves reading his Hanuman Chalisa religiously and a few important rituals like applying Sindoor on his Tail to accomplish hearts desire. The recitation of specific Hindu prayers and hymns in Hanuman Chalisa will bestow specific results.  I have compiled specific number of the Hymns and the benefits: 1) Chanting the Opening Invocation Hymn of Hanuman Chalisa many times will mitigate the doshas arising out of having insulted knowingly/ unknowingly one’s preceptor/ a Rama Bhakta. Tail Pooja of Hanumanji Tail Puja is one of the other important Hindu rituals. It is the offering of sandalwood paste and Sindoor with Jasmine Oil to the tail of Shri Hanuman’s image for 108 days. Ritual to be followed: 1) After your morning ablutions and bath, clean the photo of Hanumanji with a soft muslin/cotton cloth 2) Make a thick past of sindoor with chameli (jasmine) oil or chandan with water and with the middle finger of the right hand apply to the base of the tail, i.e start this ritual for 48 days continuously starting at the base (near Hanumanjis Dhoti.) 3) Apply some white clarified white butter (loni) to his chest where the photo of Shri Ram  with Lakshman and Sitaji is present and some to be smeared to this mouth as if to signify that he is eating it. 4) Start this puja on a  Tuesday or Saturday, a New Moon day or a Moola Nakshatra day and continue  applying in small proportions till the top of the tail for continuous 48 days. 5) For ladies, if continuity is a problem, then it is recommended that someone else in the family continues it for them for the 4 days of their absence. 6) Show 3 rounds of camphor, and light 2 aggarbattis to please the lord. 7) Fold your hands and ask for your hearts desire and surely at the end of the stipulated time, you will be rewarded with your hearts desire. 8 ) Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa will doubly benefit you. Notes: Here Sindoor does not mean Kumkum or  the  sindoor that women apply to their forehead, it is vermilion and  bright orange in color. The sindoor which is applied on Lord Hanuman is an orange colour sindoor called the Bhakra Sindoor. This sindoor when mixed with Chameli tel or ghee is then applied on Lord Hanuman. Why does Hanumanji Like Sindoor applied to him? If you notice any Hanuman idol, you will first see that he is completely smeared in Vermilion or Sindoor. There is an interesting story to Hanumanjis love for sindoor that he applies all over his body. One day, Hanuman noticed that Sitaji wore a red powder in the parting of her hair. Curious, Hanuman enquired, what it was that she was wearing. “ Dear Hanuman, it is Sindoor that I am wearing”, said Sitaji. “What is sindoor and why was it so important?” asked Hanuman. “Sindoor makes Lord Ram happy and would give Him a long and happy life”, explained Sitaji. Hanuman scratched His chin and thought and thought. He realised that Sitaji also did it because she loved Ram and showed it by putting sindoor in Her hair. “I love Ramji too,” though Hanuman, “And I’m going to prove it!” So guess what He did? Well if Sitaji can put sindoor in Her hair to show her love, he decided to cover Himself with it to show His love! He took the sindoor powder and smeared his whole body with it. And He felt very happy and smiled. When He entered Sita’s room, He was completely red, His face, the nose, dhoti, everything was completely red. It looked as though He had taken a bath in the red powder! Sita looked at Him in surprise and asked Him why he had covered himself in sindoor. With a shy smile Hanuman said, “ Sitaji, you are a Devi, a goddess. By putting a little sindoor in your hair, you can make Lord Ram happy and His life longer. But I am only His servant, His dasa(servant), so I will have to do more than that. And that is why I had to cover my whole body with sindoor.” So now you know why the idol of Hanuman is all red. This also shows the great love Hanuman had for Lord Ram and how much He thought about the welfare of Lord Ram, His master. Hence it is said that the person who gives away Sindoor and oil for Hanumanji in the temple or does Sindoor Pooja for Hanumanjis Tail for 108 days is granted his wishes. Why to read Hanuman Chalisa: Hanuman is considered as Chiranjaeevi (to live eternally). He is the monkey God, strong, full of valor, and divine powers. He is wise, a great Gnani (knowledgeable), yogi and a Brahmachari (bachelor). Whoever recites Hanuman Chalisa (40 stanzas praising Hanuman), written by Shree TulsiDas, for 108 mornings, will beget health, wealth, happiness, courage, valor and wisdom. It is believed that devotees reading this Chalisa 108 times will overcome all obstacles. “ధర్మ సంస్థాపనార్థాయ సంభవామి యుగే యుగే.." అని ముందుగానే చెప్పినట్లు ఎప్పుడు అధర్మం శ్రుతి మించుతుందో, అప్పుడు విష్ణుమూర్తి అవతరించి, అన్యాయాన్ని అరికట్టే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాడు. త్రేతాయుగంలోనూ అదే జరిగింది. విష్ణుమూర్తి, శ్రీరామచంద్రుడిగా అవతరించాడు.  పరమేశ్వరుడు ఆంజనేయునిగా శ్రీరాముడిని అనుసరించాడు.

 పాదరస హనుమంతుడిని ఎలా పూజించాలి ?

పాదరస హనుమంతుడికి పూజ చేయడానికి ముందురోజు రాత్రి తలస్నానం చేయాలి. ఇంట్లో ఒక గదిని ఎంచుకుని, ఆ గది తలుపులు రాత్రిపూట మూయకుండా తెరిచే ఉంచి గది గడపమీద ఎర్రటి వస్త్రాన్ని పరిచి, పాదరస హనుమంతుడి విగ్రహాన్నుంచి భక్తితో ధ్యాన, ఆవాహనాది విధులతో పూజించాలి. ఆంజనేయ అష్టోత్తర శతనామావళి చదువుతూ, పూలు, అక్షతలు, సింధూరంతో పూజ చేసి ధూప దీప నైవేద్యాలు, తాంబూలం సమర్పించాలి.

అనే మంత్రాన్ని జపించాలి. మంత్రజపం ముగిసిన తర్వాత, క్షమామంత్రం చదివి, పూజలో ఉంచిన అక్షతల్ని భక్తిగా తలపై జల్లుకోవాలి. పాదరస పూజ పూర్తయిన తర్వాత భోజనం చేసి బ్రహ్మచర్యం పాటించాలి. గడప మీద ఉంచిన ఆంజనేయ విగ్రహాన్ని ఆ రాత్రి అలాగే ఉంచాలి. దీపం రాత్రంతా వెలుగుతూ ఉండాలన్న నియమం ఏమీ లేదు. ప్రమిదలో నూనె ఉన్నంతవరకూ వెలుగుతూ ఉంటే సరిపోతుంది. మరుసటి రోజున పొద్దున్నే లేచి, స్నానం చేసి ఆంజనేయుడి ముందు దీపారాధన చేయాలి. ముందురోజు రాత్రి చేసినట్లే షోడశోపచారాలతో భక్తిగా పూజ చేయాలి. ఇంతకుముందు స్మరించిన మంత్రాన్ని 108 సార్లు జపించాలి. ఏ దుష్ట శక్తులు మన దరికి చేరకూడదని, ఎలాంటి ఆపదలూ లేకుండా మనమూ, మన కుటుంబమూ సదా సుఖసంతోషాలతో, ఆయురారోగ్యాలతో ఉండాలని ఆంజనేయుని భక్తిగా ప్రార్ధించాలి. చివరికి శాంతి మంత్రాన్ని చదువుకోవాలి. పూజలోని అక్షతలు శిరస్సుపై జల్లుకుని, ఆంజనేయునికి ఉద్వాసన చెప్పి, గడపమీదుంచిన ఆంజనేయుని విగ్రహాన్ని తీసుకెళ్లి పూజామందిరంలో ఉంచాలి. పాదరస ఆంజనేయుని విగ్రహాన్ని పూజా మందిరంలో స్థాపించిన రోజు నుండి, రోజూ చేసే నిత్య పూజ తర్వాత ఇందాక చెప్పుకున్న ''ఓం నమో హనుమతే రుద్రావతరాయ....'' మంత్రాన్ని ప్రతిరోజూ 11 సార్లు జపించాలి. ఇలా చేయగలిగితే ఏ భయాలూ చెంతకు రావు. మనసు నిబ్బరంగా ఉంటుంది. జీవనం సుఖంగా, సంతోషంగా సాగుతుంది.
